A Different View of Rutland Water and a Walk

Normanton Church with Rutland Sailing Cub in the background

The view “of “the lake as opposed “from” the lake for a change.  Walking from Rutland Sailing Club, the home of Rutland Civil Service Sailing Club, on the South Shore, to Whitwell Creek on the North Shore and return – ( 9 miles) .

A journey which includes crossing the dam head.

North Shore – Sykes Lane Sculpture looking towards the Water Tower

South Shore -Walking from Rutland Sailing Club towards Normanton Church on a misty morning – we couldn’t see the opposite shore at all.

A Panoramic view from the Dam as we cross from South to North Shore

Rutland Sailing Club in sight – viewing the pontoons where we usually launch from

Ann and Dave Grundy – our intrepid walkers. The walk was RSC to Whitwell and return. Wonderful to walk and see the mist lifting and meet plenty of other folks enjoying the day walking and cycling.
