Andy’s First Sail of the Season

Reflecting on a perfect day with sailing friends at Rutland Sailing Club.

Member Andy Brooks joined us for his first sail of the season. We took out the two Squibs (Satyr and Lift Off) in the morning and explored the South Leg- myself with Andy Brooks (on the left) on Lift Off, and John Cranwell-ward and Michael Threadgill on Satyr.

It may have been sunny but we still wore jackets, though you can see I got my legs out in the Sun!! (Long way to go to get some colour on them, but you have to start somewhere and what a place to me – my view).

Good Friday, Great Sail Andy,John, Dave and Mike reflecting on a wonderful days sailing our Squibs

A lunch break and swap crews and I sailed with John Cranwell-ward (Satyr) and Andy Brooks with Michael Threadgill (Lift Off). The wind picked up a bit more and we had a ball! Heading off towards Whitwell and more open water and North leg, sailing by Normanton Church.
All too soon. time to return to the pontoon and recover the boats to the trailer park.

Good Friday, the view from the veranda at RSC

Naturally, followed by a ‘debrief ‘on the veranda – one of my favourite places and views and feeling privileged to sail with RCSSC at Rutland Sailing Club.

I do believe Andy Brooks enjoyed his first day’s sailing of the season too and has plans to come back soon.

As always, delighted to sail with all our members – just book yourself in – you know you deserve it 😉
