Well that went well – Was it a record? RCSSC AGM

The picture shows RCSSC members and guests enjoying lunch poste the AGM.

The ‘cunning plan’ was to split the meeting into two parts – the formal business part and after a short ‘comfort’ break and coffee 2017.

AGM Less than 40 Minutes

With a bit of careful pre-planning and management, the AGM covered the usual Commodore’s Report and Accounts, Independent Examiner appointment, Election of Officers and Date of Next meeting in less than 40 Minutes – giving us more time in the second half to look forward to 2017.

We think this may be a club record! 😉

Flowing coffee and conversation

As well as tea and coffee the conversation flowed during the break as folks caught up or got to know one another.

2017?

About our Boats – John Cranwell Ward

John is the Boat Husband for RCSSC and gave a very interesting overview of Boat Husbandry and the the return of Lift Off – a boat which had been stored off site and fell into disrepair and now, thanks to John’s direction and support from RSC members and friends, John Laxton and RCSSC members was in a fine state of repair.

Lift Off Before Refurbishment

 Lift After Refurbishment

There is still some work to do regarding rigging and we are looking forward to sailing Lift Off this coming season.

John also covered launching and recovering and looking after our sails.

All of which gives members great boats to sail safely .

Well done John!  Fascinating and useful too.

But we had to move on, Time Flies 😉

CSSC WIIFM?-  Michelle Chelu CSSC Volunteer Support

We were delighted to have Michelle join us and, by the end of her talk, we were blooming glad she did and will be checking out all the offers on the CSSC website.

We understand the new membership cards are coming out and the booklet with them is recommended reading.

In just under 15 minutes Michelle shared a wealth of useful and valuable information what’s in it for me as far as CSSC Membership is concerned.

Brilliant Michelle!  Hoping she will join us for one of our Winter ‘Let’s Talk Sailing’ sessions so even more of our members can grab a bargain.

Offshore Sailing Opportunities – Pete Shuttleworth

Pete took us to Scotland, The Isle of Wight, Dorset Jurassic Coast, Norfolk Broads, Shotly and more opportunities.

If you are interested in any of these opportunities please contact Pete.
