A real pleasure for me to sail with Mike Threadgill and his grandson Sam, who until yesterday hadn’t sailed before.
Winds were up and down and variable in direction, but as you can see in these picture, we did get some good Force 3 winds.
On a personal note, I am now putting in time doing conversion for sailing Time Flies. You may think a boats a boat, but there are differences, best practices that need to be ‘taken aboard’ so they come naturally. For her age, she is a lively lass and picks up and is off on the lightest wind – so wind awareness and estimating the pace of the boat, especially when returning to the pontoon, is key. Sailing and returning to the pontoon for the morning session and sailing during the day, feeling more confident – a few more times to make sure its automatic and I’ll be happy.
Some pictures from a memorable and very happy sail with Sam and his Grandad, my sailing buddy, Mike in excellent conditions.
